Bench tools, to a stated tolerance.

Bench tools go wrong in two ways that have nothing to do with quality. The first is that the tool never mated with what the buyer already owned: a file too fine for the job, a handle bored for a tang it does not have, a mat too small for the bench. The second is that the tool wore out, which is the entire job of a consumable, and looked to its owner like a failure.

Both are the shop’s fault, not the customer’s. So every page here answers both before you are asked for a card, in two fields: fits, which is the numbers you check against what is already on your bench, and service life, which is the range you should expect and the check that settles it.

The rest of the specification follows from the same instinct. Dimensions in the units the tool is actually sold in. Exact weight. And a cautions list, because one cut through brass wire ends a single-edge nipper permanently, and you deserve to know that before rather than after.

Nippers are forged and set by hand in Niigata, by a shop that has made them far longer than we have sold them. Needle files are cut in northern Italy on traditional file-cutting machines, and the tweezers and dividers come from the same region. Abrasive film is coated and graded in Japan. Handles, mats and trays are turned and moulded in Taiwan.

Everything is checked here, in Georgia, before it goes on a shelf: calipers against gauge blocks at three points, tweezer points closed on paper and held to a light, files against a reference blank for cut consistency. Film is sheeted and packed here. That checking is the only reason a figure on this site is ours to stand behind rather than a supplier’s claim repeated.

None of it is the cheapest way to fill a shelf. An unbranded nipper costs a third of what a Japanese one does and cuts acceptably on the day it arrives. On the tool that decides whether every part in a kit needs sanding, we think the saving is the loss.

There are no star ratings, no review counts and no testimonials anywhere here. Not because we do not want them — because this shop is new, and a new shop displaying four thousand reviews is telling you something about itself that has nothing to do with bench tools.

There is no founding date and no story about generations of anything. There is no urgency banner, no countdown, and no invented original price with a line through it. There is no subscription, no membership and no auto-renewal — every order is a single purchase, charged once.

There are also no complete bicycles and no electric-assist parts, which is a scope decision rather than a moral one: this is a consumables counter, and it stays one.

When there are real reviews from real customers, they will appear, attributed. Until then the product pages will have to do the work, which is what they were written for.

Tweezer points arrive bent and mats arrive creased, occasionally, because couriers are couriers. When that happens, send a photograph within fourteen days and we replace or refund the item in full, including the shipping you paid. You keep the damaged one; there is nothing to post back.

Anything unused can go back within 30 days on a prepaid label we send you, with no restocking fee and no explanation required. That explicitly includes a part that turned out not to fit — it is the most common return in this trade and it is always accepted.
