Reverse-action means the spring holds them closed and you squeeze to open. Once they have a part they keep it without any effort from you, which is what you want when the other hand is holding a blade or a brush and the part is 3 mm long.
They are the tool that makes small assembly possible rather than merely difficult. A part held in a normal tweezer needs constant grip pressure, and grip pressure is what makes a hand shake after thirty seconds.
Non-magnetic stainless, which matters more than it sounds. A magnetised tweezer picks up every steel pin and photo-etch offcut on the bench and will not let go of any of them.

- Jaws open to 9 mm and close flat along a 14 mm serrated face. Holds flat and round stock from about 0.3 mm up to 9 mm.

- Indefinite if the points are not abused. The check is alignment: close them on a strip of paper and hold them to a light. Any daylight along the jaw means they have been sprung, and a sprung reverse-action tweezer cannot be bent back - the spring is the body.

Fitting & care
- Close the points on a piece of paper to check alignment before first use; they should meet along their whole length.
- Pick up by the flats, not the points. Points bend at the tip and never come back square.
- Store points-down in a tray or a roll rather than loose in a drawer.
- Do not leave them clamped on a part overnight; the jaws mark soft plastic where they sit.
Cautions
- Not for pulling parts off a fret or a sprue. Use a cutter; a tweezer used as a puller springs open and stops meeting.
- Not for holding anything under a flame or a soldering iron. Heat draws the temper out of the spring and the tool stays open.
- Not for use as a probe or a screwdriver. The points are the whole tool.
- Not for holding a part being sanded. The serration marks the plastic and the grit gets into the jaw.
